Nigerian drug enforcement agency (NDLEA )is a federal law enforcement agency in Nigeria that is under the Federal Ministry of Justice charged with eliminating the processing, manufacturing, and selling.  exporting illicit drugs into the country. So there are in charge of trafficking psychoactive substances in Nigeria. The NDLEA recruitment exercise 2023/2024 application form portal is ongoing.

The chairman Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa (rtd)   the NDLEA chairman has announced the approval from the president to recruit 5,000 personnel within the next quarter. 

The National Drug Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) invites applications from qualified candidates for the ongoing recruitment exercise.

NDLEA Recruitment exercise application form portal and requirements can be accessed on their official website. The job opportunity is open to Nigerian origin that possesses SSCE results, an NCE certificate, a National diploma certificate, and first-degree results. The online application is ongoing and it started on March 12  and will end by April 8, 2023. 

The application will be submitted online through the official website of the NDLEA recruitment portal. 

The requirement and the position are to be applied according to the certificate acquired. Below are the steps on how to apply for the NDLEA recruitment exercise 2023/2024.

1. Superintendent Cadre(General Duties or Specialists).

a. Assistant superintendent of Narcotics 11 (CONPASS 08).

The applicant who wishes to apply for this should possess a first degree or HND in any discipline from a recognized institution and have the NYSC Discharge Certificate or Exemption Letter.

(b) Assistant Superintendent of Narcotics 1 (CONPASS 09).

An applicant who wishes to apply for this position will possess an LL.B., BL, B.Eng (with COREN), B.Pharm, etc., and, on the successful completion of training, will be granted the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Narcotics I (CONPASS 9).

c. Deputy Superintendent of Nacrotics (CONPASS 10).

An applicant with an MBBS or DVM shall, upon successful completion of training, be granted the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Narcotics (CONPASS 10). 

2.Narcotic Agent Cader.

(a). Chief Narcotic Agent Cader- (CONPASS 07).

  • An applicant who wishes to apply for the position must possess a Nigerian Certificate of Education, Registered Nurse and Midwife, Pharmacy Technician, Lab Technician, Dental Technician, or its equivalent from a recognized institution of learning.

b. Senior Narcotic Agent -(CONPASS 06).

Applicant must possess a National Diploma (ND) or its equivalent from a recognized institution of learning

c. Narcotic Agent- (CONPASS 05).

An Applicant must possess 5 Credits in SSCE/GCE/NABTEB including English and Mathematics.

3. Narcotic Assitant Cadre

(a). Narcotic Assistant 1 – (CONPASS 04).

An applicant that wishes to apply for this position must possess at least 4 Credits in SSCE/GCE/NABTEB including Mathematics or English Language.

(b). Narcotic Assistant 11-(CONPASS 03).

Applicant must possess at least 3 credits in SSCE/GCE/NABTEB including Mathematics or English Language.

4. Artisan, Mechanic, Driver, Cleaner/Gardener

An applicant that wishes to apply must provide evidence of completion of secondary school and trade test grade 11 or 111.

NDLEA Recruitment Exercise 2023/2024 Requirments
  • Applicants must be of Nigerian origin by birth and possess a National Identification Number (NIN). Also, computer literacy shall be an added advantage for all cadres.
  • Any certificate or qualification not declared or tendered accepted at the time of recruitment cannot be presented subsequently for career progression in the Agency.
  • Applicants must be medically stable and produce a certificate of medical fitness from a government hospital.
  • Applicants must not be less – than 20 years of age or more than 35 years for the first category, while the age limit for the second and third categories is 30 years and not less than 18 years at the point of entry. However, 40 years will be considered for Medical Doctors and Articulated Vehicle Drivers.
  • Applicant’s height must not be less than 1.65 meters for males and 1.60 meters for females.
  •  An applicant for Medical and Allied professionals must possess current practicing licenses, and lawyers must have been called to Bar.
  • Applicants must be drug-free, be of good character, and not have been convicted of any criminal offense.
